lupercusna: (thoughtful)
I must apologise for my earlier entry regarding Harry's whereabouts. Afraid my baser maternal instinct (that I wasn't previously aware of) may have kicked in. It was a bit unpleasant. I feel rather bad about embarrassing Harry like that. If anything, Sirius should have been looking after his godson a little more closely, distracted or not.

Though, Harry really should have known better, that he was welcome to stay in the house. I hope he knows that it's a standing invitation, and I believe Sirius would like to speak with him regarding the upcoming summer holidays. I can't imagine he'd want to spend the whole of the time with those wretched Dursleys.

In happier news, Sirius has moved into my rooms here at the castle. They're bigger than his, for one thing, and with the Menagerie I can't really be arsed to move them all. Besides, Clabberts put up such a fight when you try to remove them from a familiar habitat. They fling... well, ask [livejournal.com profile] potterstinks about that.

Anyway, this afternoon we had tea together, and when I'd gone to fetch the owl post Sirius had helped himself to the last of my angel-food cake - plate and fork included. That caught me off-guard, because once upon a time I was thrown out of restaurants, should they realise what I was, for fear I had tainted the silverware. And yet there was Sirius, using my fork, like it was nothing to be worried about (which, in fact, it isn't, as the curse cannot be transmitted that way).

It was quite surreal.

Which brings me to this: Next week I will be giving the sixth-years their lessons on werewolves. I've been slowly preparing for it throughout the year, because I've not been looking foward to it (particularly following [livejournal.com profile] potionsmaster's pointed attempt to educate the students on the subject three years previously). Revealing the more personal, painful details of my affliction will be very difficult. But it is for the greater good, because the more people know, the less likely it will be that future generations like me will have to endure the sort of difficulties I had to.

Look for required reading assignments in the next few days. The lessons will last through to the next full moon. There is significance to this, but I won't go into that now.

I've got to go - Sirius has found my music collection and is making rather rude noises. Must go and hurt him.
