Time Turner: (tym tur-ner): A device used to travel backward or forward through time. Regulated heavily by the Ministry of Magic due to some unfortunate incidents in the past, present and future involving hapless wizards, such as Ogdred the Weary, who became lost in the ages and inadvertantly negated his own existence by marrying the woman who would have been his mother.
